Of all of the central and eastern european towns I've visited, the ones in Poland had the most variety of structures. It turns out that Poland was the only of the eastern block countries where the people did not lose their land rights. Consequently, many of the people grow all of the food they need on their small farms. I also only saw three tractors while I was there; most people had horses to use on the farm.
